This partnership is committed to providing free tax assistance to low-income working households, as well as additional supports and information that will help increase awareness on programs available to increase the financial stability for these customers. This temporary part time position is critical to a successful program for 2009. Roles: Provide volunteer recruitment and program publicity campaign for the corresponding Volunteer Tax site. Provide coordination, organization, and scheduling for volunteers of Volunteer Tax Program site location, from the establishment of site(s) in the community to overseeing the site(s) operation during the filing season. Tasks: 1.Develop recruitment methods (e.g., ads in newspapers, flyers, pennysavers) to attract potential volunteers to work in the Volunteer Tax Program. a) Identify and enroll number of volunteers needed for each aspect – e.g.- greeters/receptionists, screeners/schedulers, adult tax preparers and target recruitment materials to attract volunteers. b) Work with the coalition partners to determine key message(s) or emphasis that should be included in the recruitment – e.g. – computer skills, math for tax preparers and customer service skills for greeters and receptionists. 2.Manage volunteer pool and site scheduling in cooperation with coalition partners. a)Group volunteers into specific roles based on strengths and training capacity. b)Coordinate and Monitor volunteer training to ensure completion. c)Set volunteer schedules for site coverage, working with coalition partners to set site hours. d)Responsible for maintaining site coverage during hours of operation. 3.Become certified as a Volunteer Income Tax Preparer at the Intermediate Level and assist volunteers trained in the Basic Level as needed.
